New Pics

Well, I was going to put the pics in this post and the resolution would be better, but you can kinda get the jist from the background. My sister in law was nice enough to take pictures of us the other day. If S had been a little happier we'd have a BUNCH of good ones. These were the best ones.

Rock Star Party

P wanted a Rock Star party for her birthday this year so I looked up online what to do and I got so excited! I went to town making invites and planning the activities. Along with the invites I sent out VIP passes with P's picture on it to wear around their necks to get in the door. B was going to be the bouncer and check them off a list, but he didn't make it home in time. We also put on the invites that their was going to be an "air band" concert at the very end for the parents. We got some cardboard boxes and cut out guitars for the kids to decorate as they arrived. B and I DJ'd the Valentine's dance for our other ward so we took the speakers out back and had some fun dance games and songs: chicken dance, musical stars, conga, limbo, line dancing, etc. I started making the disco ball pinata the day before, not knowing you're supposed to start like 4 days before so it was still drying as I was putting the silver on it and I was doing that as people were arriving. I had B figure out how to string it up while I was doing the party. We put curtains up, along with the disco ball, some Christmas lights, and a strobe light (that we usually use for Halloween,) to make the back look like a stage. After the concert they got to hit the pinata. I was very nervous for it falling apart, but I must have done a good job, because nobody could break it. B ended up just dumping it out. We didn't get very good pics or video because the battery was dying, sorry. Overall I think it went very well and P had the best party ever!!

Halloween

I LOVE Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays of the year...........

......But when the fun's all done, and the sucker's been stuck in the hair three times that day, we're definitely glad it's over.

Happy Halloween!

Pajama Party!

The girls wanted a sleepover and since they're too young and probably will NEVER be allowed to have a sleepover, I said they could have a pajama party where everyone goes home before bed. They painted fingernails, used fabric scraps to tie their flip flops and their hair, and had popcorn and pizza to watch a movie (that they never really ended up watching.) Seven little girls pretty much just ran around screaming and laughing the whole time. (VERY glad they didn't stay the night.) I didn't get a pic of everyone, I didn't remember to take pics til after they left.

This is what the curled hair looked like after 2 days.

CATCH UP

These are all going in backward order. I didn't want to take the time to rearrange them.

#1--S's 1ST BIRTHDAY!
Yes, she is getting so big!

Dropped the kids off in Yuma with Grandma and Grandpa and went for the weekend. Did some boogie boarding and deep sea fishing.

For some reason she thinks its cool for the one strap over. Yes, she is in a uniform again at a new school, minus the flip flops.

Decided to go for a drive and this is where we ended up.

#6--AUNT R AND UNCLE T COME TO VISIT!

Went skim boarding and swimming at the river, and went to church at the old church in Pine Valley. It was lots of fun seeing the boys!

P's Swim Team

This was P's first year on swim team. I love the swim team because it's pretty much swim lessons every day so by the end of the summer they've improved so much. We got some video from her first two meets, but I was helping with her other meets so we didn't get more video. She swam freestyle and backstroke mostly, but swam butterfly in her last meet. I'm really bummed I didn't get a video of it. Maybe I'll just have her swim it and tape it to show.

Her backstroke is pretty fast, especially when she remembers to keep her head back which she was doing by the end. She is so proud of her second place ribbon.

They line the 6 & Unders up at the other end of the pool while the older kids are finishing up from the last event. They didn't tell the little ones to wait so when P and the other girl heard the buzzer they went. The older kids were swimming at the same time. I had to go get P and walk her back to her start to swim again. She was pretty tired. That's what these next two videos show.

I am so proud of her! By the end of the summer she was taking more strokes before breathing on her freestyle, keeping her head back in her backstroke, and swimming butterfly in a way to not get disqualified, (except maybe the two-hand touch at the end.) She is our little fishy.
